Presentation to IndyHub Presidents' Roundtable

I have made plans to address the Indy Hub Presidents' Roundtable on Wednesday. This group is composed of leaders from non-profits all over the city. This is a great venue for getting word out about the Circle City Sale. It is my hope that several of the member organizations will decide to host their own Official Event Location. Afterall, this event has been structured so several non-profits can benefit.

Letter Hand-Delivered to Mayor

Jan 22, 2008

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to meet Mayor Ballard today. He spoke to the Rotary Club about his primary goals for his tenure in office. Luckily for us, one of his three main goals is to engage non-profits within the Indianapolis community to improve education. Projects like the Circle City Sale are perfect examples of this theory in action.

We are waiting to hear back from his office regarding their declaration of April 25-27 as the Official Circle City Yard Sale Weekend.

Marion County Health Department Gives Guidelines

Jan 16, 2008

Today, I met with Kelli Whiting at the Marion County Health Department. She was very helpful and was able to point me in the right direction. Because this is our first year, and I want to reduce administrative work as much as possible, we will most-likely be going with fully-licensed mobile food vendors.

Official Event Locations will need to have lavatories, water, and electricity available.

Center for Service Learning Offers Assistance

Dec 7, 2008

Jami Buki and Lorrie Brown from the IUPUI Center for Service Learning met with me today to discuss the Circle City Sale. They seem eager to help and have provided a few contacts at IUPUI and in the city that should prove very helpful. I will continue to work with CCL and CSL as this project comes together. It is my hope that the Circle City Sale grows to include many organizations in Indianapolis, including the student organizations at IUPUI.
